Snapchat rising: is Facebook sized success the future for this youthful app

Snapchat boasts 150m active daily users, but it has yet to turn its reach into a profitable business.

The value of the social networking site is between $20bn and $25bn which makes it one of the world's largest technology offerings in recent years. It was created back in September 2011 which is a selfie app that lets users take pictures of themselves once they have been viewed. Despite it's immediate success it quickly turned into a 'sexting app' which isn't a good representation of the application. At first people weren't sure of the purpose of the social networking website.

I believe that Snapchat has its differences to Facebook especially when considering the users of the application. It is a website that the younger generation use more which means that it would have differences to Facebook like the simplicity of the Snapchat compared to Facebook. Plus, as audiences become lazy and technology takes over, it seems Snapchat could potentially takeover Facebook as users like the easy methods of navigating the application.
